I know there is a glue kit to fix it, that said.
What is the more permanent method?

I get worry with soldering, somehow I could crack the glass

Maybe warming up the glass first with a heat gun or hair dryer would alleviate that possibility?

I've got this same problem, but I've never seen any actual documented proof that people have done what they say they've done by soldering it back to the glass.

And I'm sure not gonna be someone's guinea pig to try it.

So it's still like that. I don't drive it in the winter anyway.

I do know that there is a conductive adhesive out there on the market some place. I've just never really looked that hard for it yet.

Honestly, it's probably best to just go to an automotive glass repair shop and get a legit straight answer.

There's no way that they haven't dealt wit hthis problem before.

I tried the conductive glue and it would not hold. I tried soldering.the original wire but my gun would not get it hot enough. I ended up reducing the
gauge of the wire by one step and was able to solder it. It works even though I very seldom have have an occasion to need it.

OP isn't talking about the wire connecting to the grid.

He's talking about the grid itself.

Well your thread title says hatch grid repair

In plain English, this is what I would understand to be "hatch grid repair."
