I don't want to sell my vette, I've put a lot of work into it, it's how I want it, it's loaded with all kinds of bad *** parts and goes like a raped ape. I've had it for almost half it's life. It may be a lowly c4 but I actually like c4's. I don't even know how to go about putting a value on it. But I need a paint booth, and I hate debt, so looking like I'll have to part ways with it.

Try a bank...get your booth and paint some cars....pay it back...keep your vette....You'll like a short term debt a little better than a vettless life or not is the question....
Good luck whatever you decide....I may sell mine one day...or not.

I need a new truck. Prices are ridiculous. I have considered selling my vette as well. But I know I will regret it immensely and so will you. Ask anyone who has. Yeah you can get another one one day but it won’t be the one you made exactly the way you want it. Keep that beautiful vette. If you are talented enough to need a spray booth you have the ability to do jobs to pay for one. Keep at it and keep the vette. Debt sucks which is why I don’t want an $800 a month truck payment. But that spray booth will pay for itself will it not? If not by your work, I’m sure you can find a guy that does side jobs that would pay you to spray in it. Find a company that will do 0% financing.

Other than a gas drinking, parts loving F250 truck I have regretted every vehicle that left me at some point. They all were loved which is why they were purchased. But life happens and if you sell it, keep some pictures and dream of the next one you will buy. And you will buy because if you loved this one enough to buy, that will never leave you. Best of luck.

As was said, finance the paint booth, then work extra hard for a little bit and pay it off, and keep the Vette. My first Vette was a C4 vert and I regretted letting it go from the minute I did it. I waited years before I was able to get another one, which was my C6 GS, and last year I was able to get a C4....still partial to them, guess cause it was my first. Love both of them and won't let them go this time. I digress....don't sell your Vette that you made how you wanted it....find another way to get the paint booth, but keep the Vette.

Been talking with the wife... thinking we can make it work without selling the car.
One of the main issues is taking the car out to places like cars and coffee is great advertisement and finds me new customers. I'm just starting out and don't have much of a reputation yet and people like to see my work first hand. Though my customer base is slowly growing and I'm grateful for that.
Second is if i were to sell it how would i even get what it's worth to me? I mean I see clean, stock low mileage cars going for what I would call really low prices. I don't know if there's much of a market for a modified car such as mine. I really don't think anyone would buy mine at 18k to be honest and realistic.
So for the time being I think the car is worth more using it to drum up business.

Take out a loan to buy a paint booth to paint his car? What crack you all smokin?
I painted my 84 last winter in a drafty old horse barn for $600. That included the obvious cost of paint, primers, and 2 cheap spray guns, but also DA orbital sander and about $150 worth of sand papers, body putty to level out the sag in the front bumper cover and rear bumper, and 3M respirator and chemical cartridges, and about a dozen large plastic drop cloths.
The only "paint booth" he'd need is the tent type carport @ harbor freight or Amazon, you'll want wider than a standard 10' ones tho, or a roll of good duct tape and some drop cloth sheets to box in the work area in his garage
My dumb repaint thread

It would appear that the quality of his Crack is far superior to yours. If you bothered to READ the posts,(maybe you did but have trouble with comprehension like a large portion of the people here) you would have seen that he is running a business. THAT'S what he needs the paint booth for. At what point does he say he wants to repaint his car?

To respond to flannel man, I did paint my car already in my garage. It came out pretty decently, there were a few hiccups that arose all because I didn't paint in a proper booth. Idk how one can paint a car for 600$ in materials... just one gallon of base coat was 900$...8 years ago. But yes it will be for a business, I need a space that provides consistent, quality results in a safe manner. I don't think a home made booth could provide that.

I have a friend who works at dupont... even with paint "falling off the back of his truck" I don't think I'd be under $600 when you start considering all the ancillary items for the job. But then again, I don't know nothing about anything.
I know what you mean though. Dad blamed me for losing all his favorite things my whole life. His boat. His first vette. His sanity. Still hear about it a lot. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... but luckily I tend to be in the camp that I can run things out to failure so resell isn't typically an option. (My current situation allows for it) Most people won't pay for a truck with 400k on it no mater how clean it is anyway. Glad you're going to try and keep it to make everything work. Going corvette-less doesn't sound fun to me. Good luck with the business sir.
