Scimitar Wing
I'm pretty sure that this will get a lot of hate but of all the rear spoilers/wings that I've seen over the 20+ years I've owned a C4, the "Scimitar" wing has always intrigued me. I'm not saying I want one on my C4 but there's something about it that I like. It is the one rear spoiler/wing that is truly different from the typical stuff you see everyday and it compliments the shape of the rear hatch. Like a lot of C4 aftermarket parts that were available in the C4's hay-day, this one has disappeared from the market but I still like it. Let the debate begin.

2023 C4 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Not unlike the 'mid-wing' on the '96 Turbo Esprit that I had owned. I say 'owned' as it was one of those "I have to own one' cars. Problem was parts availability. The air-to-water intercooler developed a leak and dropped coolant into the intact tract. Only replacement part available was an aftermarket piece where you had to carve-up the engine cover. I finally found one that was a take-off. Where?...New Zealand! Cost me a fortune...and that was the end of the romance. Nice kit car...

John Becker's ZR-1 w/4L80e, 49th street rockers has a very similar wing on his car I believe. @AAFC on the CF, I can't ****** an image but best I recall very similar Maybe he'll stop by and post a couple snapshots of his car.

John has the other 49th Street spoiler. It resembles the one from a 4th Gen Trans Am. The Boomerang one in the first post is the other 49th street spoiler.

I had wing on my C4, cause I love them, but that I have seen and I'll pass!

Scimitar wing
The wing on my ZR-1 is from 49th street, called Astro-Trac Wing for ZR-1. The wing plus front spolier and side panels ( rockers) are a set of Aero package to increase down force. It does work above 85mph I could feel the car become more stable. (you know seat of the pants).
I like the wing as you can put gas in the tank with the rear hatch closed.
rear veiw of wing
rear veiw of glass hatch opened
side veiw of wing right side
The Grand Sport flairs ( org GM parts) held on with 3m tape. The GS extensions are from Grand Sport registry. You will notice that the flairs set high in the front because the wheel opening is 1in wider then the Grand Sport wheel opening.
The euro tail lights have export backup lights under the inside brake lights.
Hope you like my setup, some do and some don't.

Someone else brought up this same topic back in 2011 and got crucified for it:
To wing it or not to wing it
The original poster vanished in 2014 so maybe the shaming worked?
Well... I'm still not convinced it is as bad as everyone thinks.

IMO these are not wings per se (like you find on C7 ZR-1s) but ... something else. Is the Porsche whale-tail a wing? I wouldn't call it that, but whatever.
