Default 1984 corvette rear speaker amplifier removal

Trying to get to the rear speaker amplifier so I can send it for a rebuild. How do I disconnect this?

I found a way to disonnect. Now, I’m having trouble trying to find a way to remove the enclosure as it’s larger than the cut-out hole. Anyone know a way?

Remove the molding over the top of the carpet and peel back the carpet to get to the bolts holding the speaker on. You just can't pull it out of the hole.

Removed molding. Pulled back carpet. Still confused on how to take this enclosure out. I think I got all the screws out.

I did. I’m pretty sure I got all of the screws out. The enclosure is wiggling, but now the top seems to be keeping me from pulling it out.

Very little different. Put some muscle into it.
BTW, I'd be looking for a used one on ebay rather than spending big bucks and a lot of time sending it out

will try again with some more force. Wow! I’m surprised that the whole assembly is cheaper than a rebuild. Thanks for the tip!

When you get it out, I'd plug it into the other side to confirm it's not working. You should also swap the speaker alone before you even take the whole box out. Speakers can go bad too
