Default 1990 ZR1 Corvette - $13,500

Needs some love for sure but if you really want a clean title ZR1 and are on a limited budget this might work. Being that most of these are over 20K you have some room to improve and not be totally underwater.

This one is a "tweener." The clutch repair will be deceptively expensive as you will want to replace both the clutch and the Dual Mass Flywheel, slave and possibly master cylinder. Unless you are doing the work yourself, this could get dicey. Plus, these clutches are pretty solid so a clutch going out may mean it was beat up a bit.

He also mention miss matched paint and the interior looks beat up. The tell in my book is that the engine is pretty dirty so that tells me it was not loved upon. With 120k it is probably do for a full on inspection and replace of wear parts routine.

Caveat emptor

I agree that this would only be a consideration if you could do all the work yourself. Having to have it done at a shop would put you underwater real quick. I just don't see any ZR1's in this price range anymore unless they are wrecked/ salvage title.

I agree that doing your own work is key to coming out good on deals like this and the green LT4. Yes it costs a lot to have body and paint work done, but I have never put looks above function in a car. So if "OK" is good enough in terms of looks, then go enjoy the drive! Besides, if you spend 10 grand on a paint job, then you'll be scared to drive it anyway. Or at least I would.

The quality of the photos in this ad says, "I don't give a ****" and the condition of the car seems to match. PASS.

A few weeks ago a cherry one sold on Bring A Trailer for 23k, I think it was. Then Brian Wilson's sold the next week for 43k or so.
