I have seen a kit advertised on C5West.com that allows a C4 owner to modify the body of their C4 to that of a C5. I've also seen two of these modified cars up for sale on eBay They LOOK great. What I want to know is whether or not anyone out there has any personal experiences with these kits and if so, how is the quality?

C5west product is CRAP....C4's are beautiful in their own right...why mutilate one to make it look like a C5?

IMO the kit from c5west is utter garbage. :cuss: It's a very cheap molding of the Corvette body panels and it takes ALOT of body work to get them on right. I bought an early c4 to later c4 conversion kit from c5west and have had them put on my 86 and have since had it painted(Sebring Silver Metallic :yesnod:) I'll have some pics for you all when I get my camera back.
Only if you plan on spending alot of money for a body shop to put it on right would I recommend you buy anything from c5west.

i heard they take a lot of work to get them to fit and look good, but that is just what i heard :confused:

It doesn't take a genius to tell that the car is a C4 dressed up as a C5. The rear hatch and the hood are basically the same, and obviously the interior is a C4 interior. Any Corvette person would recognize it right off the bat. All it does it make you look like a wannabe and it ruins a perfectly good C4. If you want a C5, buy a C5.

:iagree: I saw one pulling onto the interstate up ahead of me and I could tell something wasn't right from 100' away. I got up next to him and it looked like crap. :U Save the $2K or so you'll spend on it and use it for a real C5.

Personally,If the car is done right,it looks pretty good.It wouldnt be a bad conversion for someone who wants to fix up their old C4 that needs some TLC and body work. :)

C5west has poor quality.
I had to do lots of work to make the body kit right.

Seen this one at a local show this summer. It fooled me from a distance. It was very nicely done! If that's your thing. Fit and finish was top notch. I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner and find out what kit he used though.

Seen the kits and the molds that Spencer uses, and they are chit. Buddy got the body update kit from him and it took him forever in the grinding and finishing of the product to get it to look aything close to what it should have been. And the nose still doesn't fit correctly.

Stay away at all costs from these kits

wow thats wild! That would fool probably 95% of the people you pass in that thing. Looks wild! One of my favorites is the 93-97 Trans Am to Ferrari F50 conversion lol...

Something else I noticed in those pics was that it makes the C5's big butt look even bigger cuz the C4 doesnt have the wheels as far outboard at either end as the C5 does. :blueangel:

Wow I didn't know so many people cared. Well here is the real scoop the kit looks great if installed properly but the fit and finish fro c-5 west sucks and there directions are hand drawn pieces of poopie It took me 2 weeks to make all the panels fit properly but I love the way the kit looks now and have had tons of people tell me it looks great. You can get the same kit for less from crowders customizing( I have no Idea who makes his or if the fit is any better). I will have pics up tonight of my car with new wheels they made a huge dif. alot of people like the C-4 stock but for me the C-5 kit looks great to each his own. :D

IGeneral consesus is that C5West is crap and a lot of work. IMOP I would rather put a updated nose and tail from a ZR-1 rather than try to make it a C5
