Default New Wheels for 86

New wheels for my '86 since they stopped making the tires. Had to find a suitable replacement. Alzhor 881, 18x9.5 wrapped in Goodyear Eagle A/S 255/40ZR/18.

Great choice. Nicest I have seen, and I have been around awhile (90).
Wheels set off the vette, and the vette sets off the wheels.

Looks good but I didn't realize that Alzhor did the proper bolt circle mounting for the C4. Are they correct or 5 X 120? What offset?

They are 5x120. I worried that the .65 of a mm would be an issue, you cannot tell. They went right on. I did use StanceMagic hubcentric rings as the centerbore on the Alzhors are 72.6 and Corvette is 70.3. The offset is 35mm on the Alzhors, OEM is 38. Again, so close, no issue with any rubbing or fitment. It's like 1/10th of an inch difference.

Those look good on your car. I went with 2001 vette rims set on my 86 years ago. But I really like the style of your rims. Very nice.

It's a problem, even though you can't tell. With the hubcentric ring, you're probably at least keeping the wheels close to centered. However, you're then rubbing an oblong hole into your wheel seats and you still have a side load on your wheel studs, both of which are not good. Given you already own the wheels, I would at least find some wobble nuts to use with this combo. That way, you would no longer have the side load on the studs and the oblong wear pattern in your lug nut seats.

Looks good. I love that BBS style of wheel. Had a set on my 2006 WRX. Only reason why I didn't go with wheels like that personally was that I couldn't find 120.65mm x 5

I was just about to post a thread asking if 9.5 +35 would work. Looks like I found my answer!

Check out ESR wheels, thats what I'm saving for at the moment (broke 27 year old living in LA, everything requires saving lol). They have a custom drill option for all of their wheels. It'll take 6-8 weeks to get them if you go that route but they'll do it for ya and their styles are super rad!

Im 99% certain Im gonna go with these specific wheels but in bronze. Not sure though, I might buy 4 different wheels from them and see which one I like the best. Also like the 6 spoke Volk lookin wheels.

They are basically factory-fit on 84-87 C4s (the OE 16x9.5 had 38mm offset). Later C4s used a lot more offset (56mm for a9.5" wheel), so these would sit pretty much flush with the upper fender edges with 275 tires on a later C4. Whether you like that look or not is subjective. They would also move the scrub radius 21mm further outside, which will affect steering feel a bit. They should physically fit without rubbing, though, as long as you use the correct tire diameter.

18"x9.5" +40 rims with 255x40zr18" fit perfect and measure up exactly like the oem tires do. Even have the same diameter so the speedometer is unaffected and no interference issues.
