I was about to point this out! Its a hot topic. My first car at 19 was a 300HP Infiniti G35. I spent too much on it and it wasn't for the traction control, I def would have crashed. I wasn't a lead-foot driver either. IF the OP comes back: Listen to your pops. Get a beater for now while you save up for a NICER Vette than what you can afford now. All the guys saying buy it now haven't thought about how much better an 10, 12k C4 is.

I purchased my '87 when I was 22. Nearing 50 now and I wouldn't change that choice. I have enjoyed every minute of ownership and now allow my teenage daughter to drive it. I enjoy watching her make her own memories with it.

Tok. My L98 (TPI CAR) is capable of much more than 160. Of course it is modified but still running the TPI intake

People, the kid, or whomever, trolled you pretty good. The OP joined on 8/21, posted it 8/21 (the 1 and only post) and hasn't been back since. (or signed on with their id since).

Ive got an '84 I bought when I was 17. As long as you sign on to your parents insurance, which you will probably do anyway depending on where you live, it will not be as much as you think. Just remeber to not be an idiot and make sure you have at least $1000-1500 over the asking price for repairs/maintenance. C4s are a great opportunity right now and you should definitely go for one. Good Luck!

This thread has turned into a random thought thread. We know the OP will never return, so we are free to carry on with our random nonsense.

The attention span of today's generation of youth only tends to reach so far as the next shiny thing that comes along. Tha'ts just the reality of things.

I've noticed a lot of little four bangers with those tail pipes that sound like the car is farting down the road.
What's that all about? I have a tough time understanding the appeal.

Gen X here, and I'm sure I have undiagnosed ADHD. My attention span is short. I start to do something, and find something else I started, and then in the process of working on those things, I find 5 other things I was in the middle of.
