Is this 1995 Coupe priced to high?
I have located a 1995 Yellow Coupe, Beige interior, one owner with 36,000 miles on it. The exact C4 that I want because I love the style. Seller wants $17,995 and the car looks excellent. Planning to have Pre Purchase Inspection done. Is that price way to high? Any input would be appreciated.

Maintenance records?
Lots of possibilities to ask on value, especially that much money for any C4 except a ZR1.
Not saying I think it is too much. Only you can really answer that. I am saying it would need to be the ultimate cherry for me to consider paying that much for a non-ZR1 C4.
Any engine mods?
Date code on tires?
Does everything work?
RPO code list?
Original Optispark?
and on and on....

Yellow/beige is a hard combination to find in any year C4 it was offered. My personal favorite as well (see signature).
Prices are definitely high right now. If this is the car you want, and it checks out, is it worth it to YOU? If you love the car and you want to justify the price, ask yourself when you will see another yellow/beige later model C4... they do not come up often, and even less often, in good shape with low miles.
Share any other details you feel pertinent.
Good luck!

Everything works, clean Carfax, paint excellent. Just seems about $2000 high to me. Thank you for your input.

Auto or stick?
It's aittle. High, but if that's the car you want, then it isn't too high. Yellow cars don't come around much, and they're only getting rarer.
Go see it asap, offer 16k, but we willing to pay asking If they are firm. They will get it in today's market.

Watching the two auctions with C4 that price is little high, you might want to make offer, if it's something you really want to spend.
Please remember MODS don't increase value, there made for what the owner wanted.
Good luck, and yes good idea to have it looked like, with the money for inspections is worth it, They can find hidden secrets the sellers isn't telling you.

I appreciate all of the comments! I had a 91 C4 coupe Turqouise Metallic and really like the body style. I am 68 and widowed and my son encouraged me to treat myself. I am just conservative and like most people, I like a fair deal. Thanks to all!

In the grand scheme of things, the 2k price difference is nothing. If you can talk them down, go for it. But truth be told, does it matter? If you've reached the point where you can affordd it, why not ride out your years in what you want? You can't take that 2 grand with you, so you should at least get the car you want and not worry about such trifling things.
If the car is clean and what you want, who cares? Don't be fooled into thinking it won't require any upkeep money, but that's every car, especially a performance car that's not under warranty.
Plus, competition yellow C4's look awesome.

too high. I don't think I'd pay over $15K for a base '95. Now if its a ZR1 or a Grand sport that is a different story.
Supply and demand comes into play and its your money. color combo, low miles, it checks out and you don't have to go across the country to find, then it might be worth it to you

I have been made fun of here for what I paid for my 96 coupe. Yes, I paid over the market value. It had 27,000 miles. Was all original. The previous owner even apologized that one of the radiator hose clamps did not have a 96 code. He had always planned to get it judged. It had never once been driven in the rain. The paint was perfect. It was 5 miles from my house at a specialty car retailer ( Veit's Vetts). I was 67 at the time and did not want to search all over the country. My 96 sticker price was $38,145.00 and with tax that is almost $42,000.00. That does not include his financing costs which could take it close to 50K. In checking the records Veit paid $18,500.00 for the car. Had it transported to Iowa from Indiana. Detailed it and put it on his indoor showroom. I paid $23,000.00. I think his profit is fair. I have driven the hell out of it (except winter) and am very happy with the purchase. Worrying about 2k has a lot to do with your age and financial position. Buying this car for literally half of the original price seems like a good deal to me. You all can thank me for helping to raise the prices of our beloved C4's. Dan

Thanks everyone! All of the different opinions have helped me make up my mind. I am going to have the Pre Purchase Inspection done, discuss current values with the inspection company then make a decision. Thankfully I was raised to value a dollar but sometimes I take it to far.

Check out this Vette at Veit's. He might be pushing this a little. But on the other hand how many like this are out there? He will just wait for someone who wants it. Dan
