Default Painting my c4 brake calipers?

If anybody has any suggestions on the best way to paint my brake calipers on my C4 I'm getting new wheels and they will definitely show through the negative space on the rims so I want to paint them a blue color to match my car what would you guys suggest as far as process and product?

needing an expensive high temp paint is way overblown - plain old rustoleum or any quality engine enamel will work just fine. any auto paint store can custom mix any engine enamel color you want. remember, it's all in the prep.

I hit mine with a wire wheel on a drill and plan on painting them when I get time this week. The wire wheel really helped get the rust and brake dust off of it so I highly suggest it. First picture is what my calipers looked like when they came off vs what they look like now.

how did you pull your calipers off without losing all your brake fluid?

I didn't. Brake fluid is like 6 bucks for a big bottle. Never hurts to flush the old stuff out anyways.

On most of my cars, I've used the high temp BBQ black paint with great results. Gives a nice, clean finish. As Joe C said, you probably don't need the high-temp stuff, but I've been using this paint for years on all sort of things and it is durable.

I did it pretty much the same way and then hit em with some Eagle One. I just left em that way. I think they look pretty good as is once they're cleaned up nicely. On my blue car anyway. They've stayed pretty clean, too. They're certainly easier to maintain once the grunt work is done so long as you're consistent with it.

Of course, I have stock '90 rims, so it's not like you can see em that well anyway when the wheel is on. But even if I did have aftermarket rims, I'd likely still have kept em polished.

I used Smooth Hammerite in black on mine. It covered well in just one coat, and has lasted at least 4 years so far with no problems from heat.
