1992 C4 needs some help.
New member here. Bought a cool car today with a couple problems. Hope I can get some ideas on how to fix them on here. Dash MPH and odometer don't work. All other gauges are fine. The lights are on so where is the MPH digital display? Brake light is on. I guess it's the emergency brake light? Horn clicks but has no sound. Door panels are dry rotted. Only 53,000 original miles. Leaks a little from top on drivers side. Awesome driving experience. Just need to work on it & get it right.

Melting Slicks
Brake light = low brake fluid or emergency brake on- do you know how to operate it on a C4 - they are a little different? Speedo, post a picture, does it light up dark orange just with no numbers = polarizer film worn out, need to send to Batee.com ( need more info and pictures)

Display is blank. All other gauges work fine.

I am fairly confident from the picture your polarizer lens is bad on the center display. Do you have a pair of the old polarized sunglasses? Put them on and look at the display, can you see it at all? Also, the brake likely fluid or you haven’t released it properly

How’s the battery? Mine does that when the battery is weak. My car has a draw somewhere so even trickle charging it only last like one or 2 years. More recently I try do drive it once a week and that helps a lot.
even after changing the batter I drive it for like 20 miles and then it works fine after that because the new battery sat for a while and had to charge up. Try charging then driving the car for a long drive see what happens.

Welcome to the world of Corvette life, my recommendation to you, join a club, mostly owned a C4 one time or another, or know were to get help.
I would say, go to car show, but most of them are cancelled.

My '96 surprised me one cold day with a blank screen identical to yours. Drove it a few miles and it came back to life. Since then and at varying outdoor temperatures the display has randomly gone blank and when it does I can sometimes bring it back immediately by giving the top of the dash a firm hit with my hand. That's a clear indication of a lose or generally bad electrical connection. I will service it soon and check all connections for tarnish, corrosion or connections that have lost their tension. Correct as needed and add a little bit of Caig blue "PreservIT", P100L liquid to each connection point. Couldn't hurt.
