AlV 88 C4 project
Hi everyone, I picked up an 88 with DN 4+3 a while back that was the worse for wear and have spent some time fixing it and making it a daily driver. This post will serve to help me document things. It is going to be picture heavy so ignore if it’s not your thing.
I've had this car for about a year and did some extensive interior and exterior work to make it a daily driver. Bought stuff I found on Craig’s list and took it to Maaco for a coat of paint to make it respectable. I’ve fixed the dash harness to get rid of some hacks. Installed led lights, new wheel bearing.tires, weatherstrip and a bunch of stuff to make it reliable. I’ve also turned off VATS and refurbished the instrument cluster
After driving it the past year almost every day I’ve decided to replace all the bushings, install new ujoints and generally overhaul the driveline.
here is a montage to get caught up and I’ll post as I continue to work on it.
now I’m popping the top to get ready for some winter work. All new bushings and a miniram intake.

So what did you do the second weekend on this project? Hahaha. Seriously one metric cr@p ton of work you've done on this car and very nicely done I might add. So glad you've saving one of the L98 cars. My car was similar interior wise when it came into my possession. Plus the motor was dead (blown head gaskets, water in center two cylinders both sides, locked up). So I've been doing much the same as you and know the effort required.
I haven't done paint yet so it's still a 10 footer. And without paint I still have WAY more $ in it than it's worth. So my advice is don't add up your expenses and just enjoy the adventure. Plus keep driving the thing because bet it puts a smile on your face every time.

Its time for a rebuild and I just ordered the superpro bushing kit because everything was absolute shot and alignment is an issue.
This weekend was all about the front bumper assembly. This is one complicated front end but finally took off the 300 fasteners holding in the bumper and headlight assembly..

So its one of those $100 covers? Mine has a crack and was debating if going that route was worth it. Im NOT paying 500 for a new one....Looks good in the pic. Fit ok? Is it plastic? Thanks

Nor do you want to buy a new one, the new one never goes in like the old one came out. I thought it was a huge PITA on my 86 when I did this.
