I've said this more than once. I could die tomorrow - hit by a bus or something. now, the wife would probably remarry. then there would be some dude, sitting around in my lazyboy, watching my big screen, drinking my beer, and pattin' the old lady's a$$. now, I can deal with the TV, the lazyboy, and even the old lady's a$$, but i'll be damned if i'm leaving him the keys to a low mileage corvette. if he gets it, it will be well worn and needing everything!

In my defense, the 55 is all original... and has that lovely ford wrist pin/rod knock.
Everything else I drive as much as I can. We're limited to 3k a year with insurance though.

At 25$ for the year with the coverage I have, I don't care lol. I don't have enough places to take it where I'd put much more than 3k a year on it anyway. The historic plates limit how often you're supposed to drive it as well so...

That's hilarious -- my bride laughed at that as well!!
We have ALWAYS driven our cars and enjoyed them to the max...and mileage has NEVER hurt the resale on even one of them. I learned long ago that meticulous maintenance, detailed records, and beautiful appearance mean more than anything to those who have purchased my cars. Mileage is a number. Condition matters.
I buy them to drive them...I save the preserving for pickles!

That’s an old statement....First time I saw it I laughed, not that it doesn’t still doesn’t hold some water.
But reality is, the more you ride both of them, time takes its toll and neither looks or rides the same 20 years down the road. Including us!
And sometimes, letting the next guy take on these things are the happiest day of your life just ahead of your first days with these “beauties “.

When you die Uncle Sam and state governments gladly will grab 20 - 40% of your estate. Including your Corvette based on its value. Enjoy while you're alive. Maintain it and it will do its end of the bargain and provide happy motoring experiences for a lifetime.
Local guy died here years back and was buried in his C4. Guess he planned on driving it to the pearly gates.

That’s ok with me,I’ll be dead so what should I care what somebody does with my crap. When I’m gone,if I don’t leave my car to anybody it is to be sold. And the new owner is going to be very happy. 1991 Z with 25,000 miles in as close to excellent shape as a 28 year old car can be. Never sees rain or sits outside in the hot sun. Hell,I’d sell it right now if I didn’t loose my ***. Any takers?

Again, sometimes it's best to move these things to the next guy........

..... I'm right there with you brother … barely 5,000 miles in the last 3 years … it has been in the hot Florida sun a number of times and has actually been rained on once or twice … broke my heart ! …..
