RPO W82 - Motor Trend Car Of The Year Sticker
On my 85 I have the W82 option. Apparently this is a Motor Trend Car of The Year sticker. Does anyone know anything about this? Any searches I have done have turned up nothing beyond that.

Corvette was the 1984 Motor Trend Car of the Year. They were still promoting that big time with the '85 model. I don't think I've ever seen one of those stickers in person though.

I have an endurance champ sticker on mine. You can buy them in ecklers and corvettecentral. Not sure about car of the year though.

My 84 Blk/Red 4+3 z51 has the original sticker in the back window. I believe it is just on the drivers side only. I haven't checked to see if that was stated with an option number, but I will now. If anyone wants more info, just post and I will reply. Love to read, hate to type.

Because NCRS will be including the 84 car next year for judging and certification, this decal will be an important item. You might try the NCRS web site to see if there are sources/contacts for the decal. I would think that the various catalog suppliers may be replicating them at some point.
I recall a story about Gordon Killebrew and the endurance record decal that went on 91's. At the end of the MY, GM was going to toss the 3000 or so remaining decals out. When he retired, he appparently grabbed them to ensure they got into the parts system. He may be another source to see where you could find the MT decal.

I will see what I can do about obtaining one, but if some of you guys that still have the stickers on your car could take a pic and post it I would appreciate it! If it is in the original location (especially on an 85) could you post an overall shot and maybe some measurements so we know exactly where it was placed.

I am working from memory here but bear with me. I want to say that the sticker is about 4-5" in from the B-Piller and right above the black on the hatch glass. And it is the MT Break calipars. Hope this helps

My sequential number is 454xx which I believe puts my car toward the end of the production run. Again it has the original sticker on the drivers side rear glass. I do not see this W83 entry in any of my paperwork, or anything indicating a factory code for this sticker.

I have vin# 15740 and it had one. I read a while back that Gordon got the 91 endurance stickers, but didn't get the 84 stickers. They came out on 84's only.
