Most miles per tank of fuel
What is the most miles you have ever gotten on 1 tank of fuel no adding along the way. What is your year, trans and gear ratio? No woulda, shoulda, couldas!
Going to post in C4,C5,C6, and C7 sections.

I was hoping to get 832+ however I didn't have a trailer to carry the car to Michigan.

Wouldn't a better question be what is the highest MPG calculated for almost a full tank. We all have the same size tanks and the winner of you question would be someone who filled up a teaspoon from going dry. I have a 96 base and just got it last May. I have not run a full tank on the highway yet. My best calculated MPG city and highway combined is 20.5 MPG. Dan

I never let it get that low, but I have seen over 450 quite a few times too. Even several local commutes and in town, but I live in a rural area so mostly highway all the time. ('88 a4 2.56, '94 6m, '95 6m)

Probably around 490 on one of my trips back and forth to Louisiana in college, before I modified the engine in the 86. A4 3.07

94 auto 2.59 gears. Almost all city driving 345 with 20 miles to empty. Avg 17 mpg. Only drove it once all highway and averaged 26.5 on the 200 mile trip.

I get about 400 out of a tank in commute traffic in my 89 with a 6 spd and 3.33 gear.
On my 91 Zr1 I only get about 6 mpg as I'm always flooring it.

I made it from Harrisburg to Cincinnati on a tank and the reserve light came on a few miles from home. According to maps it was a 471 mile trip. I could have gotten 500+.

Went 465 miles to Washoe Valley NV non-stop in my 85 4+3, 3.08's on US395 in 1987. Ran out climbing the hill to my destination, so I coasted back down the hill to a station and filled it up. I used that last tea-spoon. That's 23.2 MPG at 70-ish and elevations up to 8,500 feet.
I am CONVINCED that modern ethanol-laden gasoline is not as "powerful" as the stuff we could get in the 80's when these cars were new. I have seen MAJOR, repeatable reductions in fuel economy over the years in vehicles I've owned for decades and driven literally hundreds of thousands of miles. I'm acutely aware of my mileage as I log every mile and fill-up because I'm a Schedule-C filer and expense my gasoline I use for my vocation. Vehicles that once got 18MPG now get 13 under identical conditions. The cars haven't changed, but the gasoline has.

Long stretches of Interstates driving give really good results.
Leaving home, headed to the starting point in FL
Rolla, MO to Christian, TN = 453 miles
Christians, TN to FL State Line = 480 Miles
On the way back home, the stretch from Zanesville, OH to Paciffic, MO on I-70 gave the best results.
Just East of Columbis, OH to Just West of St. Louis, MO
514 Miles of all Interstate
1996 LT4 all stock (6-speed with 3.45 rear gear ratio) (6th gear is a 0.50 overdrive)
Gotta love that 6-speed on the Interstate.
Set cruise and motor down the road at 80 mph turning around 1800 RPM.
