What year is the car? There was a major redesign in 1990 and the before and after are completely different.

Hello Cliff, looks like I am definitely going to have to make a booster change on my 86 as I have a hard brake peddle and very little brake response, can you give me any tips on making this change, also is it possible that I might only have a bad check valve? Thanks in advance.

I had the same symptoms in my 86 a couple years back ... it was the booster. It is an expensive part and I'd hate for you to throw parts at it and be wrong.

I have the 85 and if you take the seat out it helps alot. Also if you put ducktape on the metal plate that is in there it will hold it so your screws will line up. Otherwise the plate can slide and aligning is tough when trying to get the screws in.
Good Luck
