I do not own any brickabrack! I have owned one at a time and drove every day, a 64, 69, 74, and now an 87 Vette. I started in 1966 and I have driven in every kind of weather and condition. The fun is on the inside , not the outside!!! :D

I think most owners would agree with the general consensus. However, just as lifestyles are different, so are philosophies on how much to drive their cars. You would look far and wide to find two corvettes exactly alike. This is because of many factors such as age, income, goals, mechanical skills, etc. So you would not expect all drivers to drive them every day nor would you expect all drivers to garage them long-term. Life does not come with a rule book; nor does corvette ownership. I couldn't judge someone else because they drive more or less than me; why should my perspective be the benchmark by which others are judged? Enjoy your car as do I and "to each his/her own"! :yesnod:

I've decided the perfect plan is to have a coupe AND a convertible and to make the daily driver for the day depend upon whether it's a good day to dirve around with the top down or not... So I'm gonna sell the 77 I have and get a white 88, 89 or 90 convertiiable to match my white coupe!!! That way I can drive a Vette every day and not end up putting toooo many miles on either one of them!!!!
I too am a big believer in the philosophy that if you have a world-class driving car that it should be driven... But I also believe there is a place for those who make them museum pieces in their garages... It's nice to know there will be examples 50 years from now of what each model looked like the day it came off the assembly like, especially for some of the more rare examples. At that time, my cars will be examples of what Corvettes with 500,000 miles of driving are like and they can sit around the campfire while I tell them all the stories of my travels so they will be able to pass on those experiences, they missed out on themselves, to their grandchildren!!!

.....or that Grand Sport with 8 miles on it...THATS just not right (IMHO). :blueangel:
I've put 28,000 miles on mine over the past 2 years. My Camaro has probably only seen 10,000 in the same time period. I love driving the vette. Feels great everytime I get in it.

Some people don't understand that there are two basic types of people; spenders and savers. Some people like to preserve what they have, some people like to use it for all it is right then and there. There's not really any converting of these people, it's how they are raised and how their basic thought patterns are. If you're a Christian and I tell you I'm an Atheist, and that's how everyone's meant to be, are you going to convert your religion to mine? No.
All I'm trying to say is that you can't get on peoples' cases because they like to keep their 'vettes low mileage. I know people will respond to this post saying that it's MEANT TO BE DRIVEN. Guys, you can't change peoples' THOUGHT PATTERNS.
Personally, I'm a saver. I'd like to get a C5 and I think the lower miles on my 'vette, the more money I can get when I go to sell it. I'm planning on getting a C5 when the C6 comes out because the C5 market's going to crash, basically.

I hope the current owner of My 2001 Z06 is not driving it. I hope he is babying her and keeping it in the garage. I hope he is not drag racing or moding the engine. I hope he keeps towles on the seats and plastic on the floor. Because in about 10 years I'm going to take that baby off his hands and drive the tires off her!!!!! YEEEEEEEE HAAAAAAAAA :D
