Default How rare is it?

I got to wondering about how rare my car might be. (FWIW)

There were only 5672 convertibles made in '91. (That's less than the number of Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupes made in 1987!)

Of that number, I wonder how many were black, (red and white were probably the two more popular colors, and there were 7 other colors).

Then I would say that among the black convertibles, a black interior was the more popular choice.

So my guess is that there were less than a thousand '91 Corvette convertibles, black exterior with red interior. (rare?)

And in all my travels and readings, I haven't seen another 1991 with that combination. (That includes a visit to Corvettes at Carlisle last year.)

How about it? Any idea as to how many were produced in that combination? You know of others out there?

Just curious.

Haven't seen any black on red C4's out there, but I do have a friend with a black on red '78. He said that this color combination is rare, so you're probably figuring right. They're not popular colors, but I like them. Mine's red on grey tho. :D

That is one of my favorites. They definitely don't make many in that combo.

Out of 4,369 convertibles produced in '96 I have one of only 429 produced with the optional factory hardtop. The '96 model year was the last year for this option and the lowest number ever produced for a model year. I consider it fairly rare.

I took the Black Book and figured the percentages of my options to the cars that were built and then worked backwards. I ended up figuring something like 1.84 with my options and color. (yellow was 2nd rarest in '94 and this one came with New York emissions making it REALLY rare.) So I figured there might have been two with the exact same options. Now this one has GS hash marks and has been on the NCM delivery drive so it's ONE OF A KIND now! :D
