Yes, they come with it. If ya can't find one from a forum member or E-bay, I got mine from gmpartsdirect.com at a decent price.

Oh, and tell him to make sure he gets a vert key fob, not the coupe one. They make two separate ones and I don't think they're interchangeable (may be wrong on that).
Anyway, the vert ones don't have the button for coupe release, of course. Don't want him to bid on the first one he sees on E-Bay, just in case ;).

Key fob for 95???
Do all later c4's (i.e. 94-96) have passive keyless entry, i.e. do you just need top have the key fob for it to work. When I bought my '95 I didn't receive a keyfob and am curious as to whether I have the keyless entry, because if I do I'll need to go buy a key fob...
If no is the answer, how do I tell if I do indeed have the keyless entry?

Yep, you have it on '95. Just need to buy the keyless fob (see link below for example). Your owners manual shows you how to program it. Just takes a minute and is really easy to do. If ya don't have an owners manual, just holler on how when you get the keyless fob.
Like I said, gmpartsdirect.com is a whole lot cheaper than the dealership.

Re: key fob for 94??? (1Fast99Roadster)
PKE was not installed on all "94's. He can check the option list on the underside of the console lid. Not sure off-hand what the code is.
However, here is my take. I have a 94 with PKE. I bought one used on-line that did not work. I took it to the Chevy Dealer for a check-up. It was not working. Lickily the guy I bought it from was honest and returned my $$$. The parts service/tech also told me that there are specific key fobs for specific cars. They need the VIN to identify the correct key Fob for his car. I confirmed this when visiting Eckler's back in August. Although Eckler's did not have any in stock and GM has them on hold temporarily?
I would send your friend to the dealership for his key fob if his car has PKE at all.
Another note: I think the PKE is a PITA! It will lock and unlock the doors when you are working in or around the car and have your keys in your pocket or even when filling gas.

You can turn the PKE on/off easily with the key fob. You need to be within the fob's transmit range (about 5 feet) and press & hold the door button for more than 2 seconds. The door locks will cycle and the system is off. To turn it back on just repeat the process.

Is there a way to turn on the alarm without the key fob?
