Mobil 1 and I use 10-40w for summer since I have 115,000 miles.
I still use the 5-30w during the coldest part of the winter season.

I just changed my oil this weekend for the first time and quaker state 5w 30 is what i used but this morning when i started the vette, it sounded funny and not idling properly. After a couple of minutes it was fine. I don't think it had to do with my changing the oil but i am not using Quaker Stat next time. I am going to use Mobile 1 instead.

Was your quaker state that you put in synthetic? If not CHANGE IT QUICK. The reason the LT1 vette specified synthetic oil was because it doesn't have an oil cooler of any type. Thus synthetic oil was needed to combat the high temps.
If your quaker state was sythetic and it meets the GM spec that's listed under your hood you should be alright. I used to use quaker state full synthetic on my old car. I thought it was really cool because of the clear bottle :)

If it's in the clear bottle and has the mercedees on it, it's full synthetic. You might want to double check the bottle and see if it meets the spec for your car though.
