Default Weather Stripping best fit

Hi

Have just bought a C4 over here in the UK, it needs the weather stripping done, front, middle and glass boot hatch

I know there a few different brands and some 3rd party stuff fits better than others, so was looking for any recommendations?

I would have to import from the states

Cheers in advance...

Richard

I just recently replaced my A and B pillar pieces on my '91 using the Weatherstrips from corvetteamerica.com and I have to say I was very satisfied with the quality and the fit. I ordered these after ordering another brand that has a good following here - but I was not happy with the quality, and returned them, then ordered the Corvette America product. I have yet to order the hatch piece - so I cannot speak to that one however. The part numbers I ordered were 4101 (1984-1996 Weatherstrip. Roof & Window Front - USA) and 50514 (1984-1996 Weatherstrip. Roof & Window Rear - USA). I also ordered new retainers for both pieces as well, part numbers K1488 & K1489.

I replaced mine from a supporting vendor here named Wilcox. Very happy with them.

Thanks for the replies

I have looked at the Corvette America ones and have been told it's a good company to deal with especially if you are over in the UK like me

Seu318 appreciate the part numbers also

In terms on the hatch piece I see there are 2 versions, original and moulded, there is quite a price difference

I am assuming the originals are not that good or have an issue, hence the newer moulded version?

Cheers

Well - as I say - I have not ordered that hatch piece yet, so I don't feel I can steer you one way or the other. Mine definitely needs to be replaced as my original has separated in the corners, and it is my intent, when I am finally ready to order, to get the molded corners version, part #52335. I can give you my opinion then, but I'm just not ready for that project yet. (Reason is - I have no leaks there - so its not a pressing issue for me at the moment)

Appreciate that, thanks

I just wondered what the real difference was, like yours mine do not meet in the corners anymore, so assumed that the moulded corners will stop this...

Cheers

I would try Summit Racing. Look at their website. Made in the USA is the only stuff you want to buy. The cheaper stuff made in India doesn't fit the same.

Summit shows several kits, has anyone had experience with softseal? Does there price reflect quality, At $600+ for kit But $117 for hatch, not in kit.Have not seen any review for softseal on forum.

Metro is the maker of the seal I recently purchased through Summit

OE quality buddy. My 1988 i wemt the cheap route and the doors dont close as they should by gently closing them. You must shut them smartly. I think I paid around $350 for the kit. This seal show was $99.
