Anyone ever fix a C4 that was hit in the front ?
Has anyone ever fixed a hit c4 that has frame damage on the front rails?
From what I can tell the drivers side horn (In front of the suspention) is crushed, and the drivers side frame rail is pushed up a little (So the car sits slightly lower on the driver side..
Someone mentioned that the front frame horns could be cut off and replaced, and the frame rail could be pulled true again..
Also I found a nose for $2500 bucks does that sound right?
anyone had any luck doing that?
thanks

There are some things I will do, some things I won't. Body work is a won't. Fixing frame damage... well that's seems imcomprehensible to me, I don't even have a lift. My advice is have a body shop fix your frame, and if you must do the nose piece yourself, good luck. Exactly what do you mean by a nose? The whole front bumper, that piece between the bumper and the hood?

I would not attempt frame work myself, just looking to see if anyone does frame work, or has had it done.. and how did it come out? was is successful, etc...
Being that is unibody not sure if its even worth fixing..

I don't know about that. I wouldn't even attempt that kind of body work on a C4, best leave it to the professionals; frame damage on a vette, not good at all. Very rarely, one can get one of those nose pieces on straight. It takes alot to get one of these cars close to right again after it's been hit; not only aesthetically, but driveability as well. I'm just saying it's not something I would try to fix, and if you're gonna give it a shot, I wish you the best.

I have done it and I have access to a frame machine here at our school. It is possible but you really gotta know what the H you are doing (Iam ASE certified master autobody tech). Look around your town for a good body shop that has a frame machine. If you strip the car yourself it may save you some money. I also have seen C-4 shells in junk yards ........ you may want to transfer all your parts to another shell (unibody). There is a guy in Princeton, WV that has a couple that have been picked clean for parts and I considered one for a prostreet car once.
Good luck with it

Just make sure the frame machine has a laser measuring system. I did a front frame splice with one last year and it was much easier and more accurate than anything I have ever used before!

For the frame, take it to an EXPERT, (read: Frame shop.) The tiniest bit of "out of whack" will be noticable. Also, if the frame isn't 100%, nothing else fits right either.
