Now that you are pissed, call your insurance.

Also call Pep Boys' HQ

Pep Boys Corporate Headquarters

(215) 430-9000

Call, and ask for Mr. Anthony Brent Windom. He is the CEO, and they will wonder why a customer is calling for the CEO, and they will call the store for that manager to make it right.

I had the same problem when a wheel weight came off, and cracked my 92's hood.

Oh yeah...the good days

DON'T CHICKEN OUT...DO IT

I agree with PLRX -- Do what is necessary to be treated with respect and fairness. The problem today is people are lazy, and they don't do a good job anymore. If you give in and accept the terrible customer service then they (Pep Boys) win, and they will continue to treat people unfairly.

Take action and demand fairness.

Default PEP Boyz!?!?

OK , I made a mistake a few years ago bringing a simple flat tire to puke boyz. We were ready to take the family sedan for a trip and night before discovered a flat tire the. The puke boyz was the only one open and reluctantly brought it there to be fixed...what a FREAKIN horror story. The short version is the kid trying to fix it was having a melt down with his coworkers and in the midst of trying to patch it from the inside ruined the tire and then STARTED THROWING A HAMMER AT HIS COWORKERS - WHILE MY CAR WAS IN THE REPAIR BAY!!!!
I ran into the repair area told him to get the F<<< away from my car and screamed for a manager!!!!
puke boyz replaced 2 tires which sucked because the tire model was discontiued, so I could only get them to replace the damaged tire and the one on the same "axle".
NEVER had the idiots go near my rides again.
I feel your pain....

So I have an appointment with a wheel repair service next Monday to see if they can repair the wheel. Pep Boys finally stepped up and is going to pay for the repair. Hopefully the repair service can fix the wheel. I am going to give them a chance to make this right. If they don't, then I will contact the state attorney general to see what they can do for me.

Cheers

That's great news. Make notes about everything and follow thru with exactly what you have said. The fact that they have agreed to repair the wheel is almost an admission of guilt. Your going to get what you want by the time this is over.

The last time I went to a Pep Boys for tires, half of the "technicians" there didn't even speak English. I felt like I was in Mexico. Needless to say, I went to Firestone instead. No problems there.

Milton was a pretty nice town in '85. Last time I drove through it was a nightmare.

Sad story but so true these days. Businsses are out to make money not give it away. Forget being strung along they are hoping youll go along with it get frustrated and forget it. Fight for whats right every time

I get my tires from one place these days they charge a little more but service is always perfect no questions asked on warranty, older guy has owned it forever they are a dying breed...like muffler shops;every one I know of has closed down due to the "giants" and bolt on kits from the web
About all gone

I hate taking stuff into shops, i find that 99% of people working there are totally incompetent.

I have uet to find a single place that can even lift it right.

I'm also a massive pain in the butt, i will grill anyone looking to do anything.
And I'll still baby sit my cars.

Recently i started looking for someone to rebuild the transmission on my C4, what i found were people i would not even let change my oil...

So i decided it's a good time to learn...

I'll also note i used my brother in laws mechanic a while back, my sister called me and told me to not question him...

I have my DD serviced by a local shop. The kid who's tire changer/lube rack boy has stripped the oil pan plug, broken the seals for the oil filter adapter and of late stripped all the screws holding the wheel center cap.

I'm tired of dealing with "millennials-in-training".
The good mechanics are getting scarce.

I had an old man with "27 years of experience" tell my wife she needed new struts.

There was nothing wrong with her struts...

However his reasoning was because he put his finger near the shaft and pulled out the grease that gm put there for some front end rattle...
I would think 27 years of experience could teach him the difference between chassis grease...

Last time my car went to Pep Boys, I told them I wanted to buy and have a pair of Nitto NT 555 285/40/17 tires installed on the back of my car, to match my front tires. It even said that in my paper work. I ALWAYS stand in the shop bay and watch work being done my any of my vehicles, not just the Vette. Well, after mounting and balancing my new tires, they bring them over to the car to get ready to remount the rims on the car, and I see I now have a more expensive set of Cooper Zions on my rims. I'm immediately like "WTF, THAT IS NOT THE TIRE I WANTED". I started to raise hell quite loudly in the shop and in the service area. Turned out, they never had the tires I wanted in stock, even though they said they did. Came extremely close to making them put my old tires back on the car. But after doing a little research on the Coopers, and considering race season was a week away, I agreed to buy the Zions for the same price as I would have paid for the NT555.

Don't get me wrong, the Cooper Zions are very good tires I would not have a issue with using again, but that's not what I told Pep Boys to put on my car. This happened at the Pep Boys on Mercury Blvd in Hampton, VA.

Well, after talking to the district manager and having two different wheel repair companies look at the wheel at Pep Boys request, they have finally relented and are having the wheel re-chromed. Supposed to get it back in a week or so, so I will see how it looks when it comes back. Don't know who is doing the work, they are pretty vague about that information. I'll post after I get the wheel back.

Cheers

Last update, after weeks of calling and pestering the Pep Boys shop, they finally relented and bought me a new wheel. Got one from a wheel shop in Delray Beach, Florida and it is a brand new wheel. What a PITA, but in the end it was well worth it. Good luck to anybody that uses Pep Boys. I don't think they were too happy about it, but they finally figured out that I wasn't going to let this go.

Cheers to all

That's a "RELIEF" good thing. you did not buckle under some pressure. It's a principle. that you cannot let them get away with!!

PS. I'll bet they will NEVER. Say duhh, ummmm. SURE we can do that with "EASE" with our latest and greatest 10 Y/O changer.
