Ads super chip?
On to solving my code 51. My check engine light will sometimes flicker, or the car would not hold an idle. Twice it shutdown on me at a traffic light and would not start!
I checked / cleaned my grounds, and battery terminals. All clean with di-electric grease.
Pulled the computer and found this gem.
I can't find any documentation on this chip. It appears to be a piggyback chip holder.
Used a can of DeoxIT and cleaned the pins.
The chip is labeled 9823-B. Searching the forums all I can find is that it bumps timing. Also runs fans at 160F and can be used with a 160 thermostat. I'm running a OE 195F thermostat.
Anyone have more info on these "B" chips?
Are there any changes to setting timing on car vs stock, or mods required to run this chip?
It looks like I can pull this intermediate chip off and return car to stock. True?

Much better!
So after some research, Google, Third Gen Camaro, etc. came to the conclusion to pull the ADS chip. I kept saying during this build that I want the car stock. Well I'm happy to report no error code 51 and at WOT no more clacking! I found out the chip advances timing at WOT only, and turns the fan on at 160F. I did notice I'm running 196-200F now vs 188-196, but that is a small consequence.
My last two major to do is the fuel pressure regulator and distributor.
I did also pickup four used 275/35R18 Bridestone Potenza RE71Rs so I'll be ready for the next autocross.
Have a great weekend everyone!

First Track Day!
I'm happy to report the Corvette did very well at its first track day event at Thompson Motor Speedway. The SCCA TrackNight Series was hosted on Thompson's road coarse on Aug. 2nd.
There were 3 Sessions 20 minutes each which I ran in the intermediate group.
Was a lot of fun and recommend to others. Make sure your brake fluid is fresh. I wound up boiling mine, and temporarily losing brakes when parking the car after each session.
Here is a video of session 1.
Yes that is a C7 I passed, 'Merica

Brake Fluid
So when I did the brake job (Pads, Rotors, Hoses) before I turned a mile (now have about 3K miles) with this car I used Super DOT4 from Pentosin. I thought I bled out all the old fluid, but the forward reservoir on the master cylinder was black when I completed my first Session! Yuck!
I may switch to a different brake fluid, ATE TYPE 200 which is DOT4, which we use in our Lemons Chevette. Both Boiling points (Wet/Dry)of ATE are better than Pentosin.
Brake ducts maybe an a good idea too. I have seen a couple of posts on brake ducts for C4's.
Hope to post Session #2 and #3 by tomorrow.
SCCA has more events coming up at Palmer Road course that I'll probably do as well.

Melting Slicks
Marvel Mystery oil is no "mystery" because it's basically ATF with some additives (another mystery) and something to make it smell different.

My car is stock. I'm sure the C7 would have handed me my rear.
Dt86
I was hitting just over 110 mph on the straight.
Here is Session 2 video. A little faster and not as much traffic.

CAGS Finally Eliminated!
I hate the CAGS 1-4 skip shift. Purchased the Mozzy FOD plug kit on Amazon for $12. Really easy install. Located on driver side of transmission.

Looks like you rebuild that car from the ground up, don't even want to know what you spent, but it's the joy you get at the end!
