what do you hate most about car shows?

Re: what do you hate most about car shows? (stillthere)
i hate nothing about them. my car is clean enough to win some shows. here is how it works... to win a race you need a race car, to win a show you need a show car. you cant win a show with a race car and you cant win a race with a show car. you have to decide which one you want. what i hate most about racing my car is i get my butt kicked by a car thats not as clean as mine. i have another one as a daily driver because you cant win a race or a show with one of those. :jester
Just bustin' your *****. :boxing
What do I hate about car shows? THE TEXAS HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nothing like spending eight hours in the 100* F texas sun.
I like going to car shows, and showing our cars. It's fun, and that's what car shows should be. If I win, great. If I don't, great. The trophy doesn't matter to me, any idiot could run down to a trophy place and have 15 specially made for less than the money you'd spend entering 15 individual car shows. The trophies are meaningless to me, what matters is seeing all the cars that people lots of effort into or are just proud of. Maybe they are proud of their new 'vette, have ALWAYS wanted one for YEARS AND YEARS AND YEARS and finally saved up enough to buy a new one, and they are so proud they want to show it to everyone. Does that make them wrong? No, and it's just one more neat car to look at in my opinion. Car shows should be fun, not intense competition.
EDIT: Fixed the spelling error :D

I hate it when there's like stingray's there that the owners have invested literally $25,000 into just making the car into something other than factory. It's really lame. Why don't they have a catagory for people under 21? Then maybe the typical clean C4 would get some respect.

Car shows are for fun and meeting and hanging out w/ other car nuts. Go and have fun, If you win a trophy that is great, if not, the sun will still rise tomorrow. I find that there are a handful of cars that people have spent tons of money on that win every show. They are very competitive and get upset if they do not win. They spend weeks preparing their cars. I don't have that kind of time. To each his own, just enjoy. Guy

I hate it when people that don't know anything about Corvettes come around and tell me all about MY Corvette........I also hate it when people have Cokes in their grubby little hands and are maybe spilling some...... I also hate it when the porta Johns are too far away and I have to drink less beer........
As far as who to compete against.........NCCC shows have classes and stuff so all the generations are in their own classes and if they are modified they go together and so on :seeya

i hate that all shows are not inside. the heat at some of them is pretty bad. there are allot of cool friendly corvette people at these shows. thats why i like them. i hate not being able to buy a car at every show. i always see something i want at every show.

Let me say that there are all types of car shows. Know what kind fit what you want out of them or just don't go if you don't understand what kind of show it is. When my club does a show we judge everyone's car except our own. The car is graded. If the hood isn't open you lose 30 points. 2 people grade one catagory each. Paint, interior, motor, wheels and undercarrage. Even with that your still going to have the trailer queens competing against daily drivers. Some do break them by mileage and even that can get mixed up when you have restored vs. original. Just relax, enjoy and meet some folks. BTW, I've got lots of trophy's but I also have been beaten by some that I thought were ugly! No big deal! Just have fun.....go make fun of a Mustang or something!

I hate....
1. How everyone runs 8.0s @ 230
2. How every car is overly rare because of something.
3. How cars 15 years old can have less than 15k miles on them.
4. When a brand new car off the line can win 1st place.
5. Those little dolls that look like little boys leaning against the car.
6. Gay hood murals.
7. Posers with tons of engine work, yet have no timeslips.
Should I go on? :)

People who drop $20k into a car that make it into something completely different than what it originally was should have a different category. "I have a 1949 Ford with a Chevy corvette 350, 50 disc cd changer and two 15 inch subs, interior and seats from a Dogde, and Cadillac taillights." Hhhhmmm, nice car dude, I guess. So what exactly is it?
