I drive a 1989 C4 and the last back tyres that i bought were khumos and within 5000 miles , they were bald . They are standard size . Just bought some new ones called falken . Those are the only choices of tyres anyhow . Just wondering what the average milage on back tyres should be really ? cheers

haha agreed. I just bought a 93 in January and i replaced the back tires last week. They were almost bald while the fronts will be fine for a while.

Are you just having issues with the rear? What air pressure are you running? Are the tires wearing even or do the centers wear first?

i was running 50 pound psi , and they wore in the centre the most . suspension is not worn , and had a wheel alignment done . Funny thing is that after the wheel alignment , the drivers door was rubbing against , fender and hood , so i filed it down until it cleared . And thanks for asking , cheers

Check the sticker on the drivers door for the proper PSI, you should be running 30-35 max.

Doesn't that only apply to the tires that came on the car?

Its what the manufacture recommends for the tire size and vehicle, does not matter what brand tire. I would think 30-35psi would work just fine with any 84-96 Corvette. OP stated he was running 50psi way to high.

ive always been told that the maximum is too much and the minimum is what is printed on the door sticker. I haven't gotten a consistent answer for what is actually the best inflation pressure.
