Anyone done this ?
We went for a ride with disabled kids, age from 6 to 16 years old.
Boy did we all had a great time. 17 Corvettes, all members of my club.
The smiles on the faces of the kids makes you feel very good.
One of the best days of my life with the Corvette.
I had a little boy at the age of 10 in my Vette who did not stop talking about it and wanted to know it all, what's this and that. At one point i said;
"thats the computer of the car"
He said; "What can it do"
After explaining it to him he said; "Where is the mousebutton" :D
Great day, we will do it again next year.
Just wanted to share this moment with you.
Mike

If i'm remembering right...Classic Glass Corvette Club in Marietta Ga does something similar with a local orphanage a couple times a year....or at least they used to. Sounded like a lotta fun!

Okay, since mike doesn't seem to read up on this topic any more I'll tell why the fire brigade came.
After the drive with the kids some of the club members started to do burnouts, wich the kids (and the rest of the crowd) seemd to like a lot.
The kids then asked our main rubberlayer (nicknamed smokey) to lay a good healthy strip of rubber right in front of the main entrance of the clinic.
After doing this someone heard the fire alarm go off because smoke had entered into the building ( smokey was really giving credit to his name :) )
The firebrigade came and they could see the fun in it, they decided to turn on their sirenes as well for the kids making it all a big spectacle
Here are some pics of the day: You gotta love those happy faces
This is Mike :) (the dude ;) )
All the kids got a photo in a frame from their driver of the day to keep as a remembrance. We'll beback around the end of this year to celebrate the 40th anniv. of the house with them.
