Need opinions on price/value of an 87 coupe
Give me some good educated numbers on a good price for an 87 coupe. Z52, auto, silver with gray cloth interior (only 400 made), 9500 miles. The only non factory parts are new tires, battery, alternator. One stone chip. One owner car.
Never seen rain. Rarely saw sun...LOL.
Sorry, no pictures.
Thanks!
I owned a 72 for 10 years. I just never really followed the C4 market at all.

$10K - that would be my guess.

$10K would be a good price. Maybe offer $8500 and go up from there.
With the car having sat for such a long time, I would expect to see some dried out seals (crank main seals, trans output shaft seal, and possible the pinion seal). Suspension bushings might have become dried out and hard so they may start to wear very quickly once the car is put to frequent use.
Also look for any rotting of the weatherstripping and cracking around the smooth part. Be very careful when you remove the targa top as the weatherstripping could have become stuck. Replacing weatherstripping can be expensive
Definitely check everything on the car for proper operation.

Look at the date code on the tires as well. Most likely if they are original, they will not be particularly safe on the road. If you are looking at NCRS judging its good but not for driving around. This and the factors above should all play into the price and what you want to do with the car. The C4 is not an investment because of the high production numbers. The color combo altho nice will not play into pricing no matter how few of that combo were made. It might serve as an advertising point for someone not familiar with this gen of Corvette.
Good luck with it, post some pics if you grab it.

Blue tinted targa. Had Lloyds dash and trunk mats. Need to order new floor mats. Car cover. A few more small extras.
It was too nice to pass on.

Wheels are on backwards.
C4's are not collectable or rare (apart from special models, ZR1, Callaway, etc)
Car looks good in photos, just don't overpay on the idea of rare and low milage.

Remember, this is a 25 year old car that has been parked for a long time.
Your still looking at some repairs.
Waterpump, shocks, master cylinder for starters.
She's a beauty. So i'd spend some for a clear 'bra' to protect that front end.

Beautiful car, looks like it stepped out of a time capsule. Good luck with it.

I would say 10K, you will not find many early C4's in this shape with such low miles. But I wouldn't spend 10K for this car if you plan on racking up the miles on it... show car, weekend drive and 10K would be worth it imho.
That being said, don't be surprised if the heater core needs replacing/bypassing soon after purchase.

I was not looking at rare or collectible, just a nice clean car for my 70 year old dad to drive around town. Hoping it does not need all these items replaced, but it is what it is. Unbelievably I checked everything over yesterday before getting it. My dad drove it home and now the power antenna did not retract. The motor was not running he said, so I assume it is not the teeth stripped. Hoping it may just be a relay issue?!! It worked fine yesterday before I bought it. LOL My luck! Hope its not cursed now!

Original owner just replaced the tires, I did not even notice. Do these things have unidirectional tires? Flop sides?? Probably got mounted wrong? Doubt there is much can be done without remount?? Dunno much about it.

Most C 4s are going between 5 and 10 k, of course it dpends on condition and mechanicals, just because the miles are , it's still a 29 year old car, and still will need some care, but it good in the pics I have seen, so Good Luck and welcome to the madness
