Default Who is making the longest drive to Carlisle?

Until 3 months ago, I lived 15 minutes from the fairgrounds, now I have moved about an hour further away, so still a very short trip for me. I plan on making the drive each day Fri-Sun. Only about 60 miles for me.

Just curious who is making the longest trek to reach Carlisle? And are you making the drive in your C4?

Central Florida..... Driving SUV in order to pick up large parts for my 74. I wish I could drive my vette, but hard to fit large parts in small car.

I'll be doing one of the shortest trips. Not going, besides not have much for the C4's there most people who go are the newer generations (C5,C6 and C7) and as far as I'm concerned most of them are stuck up and walk around with there noses up in the air.

I hope no one's driving a real long distance to try and find C4 parts. If you don't know about Carlisle and finding C4 parts, you will after you get there. After many years, vendors there still haven't gotten the idea that we C4 owners would like a few bargains and parts also.

True, there definitely are not nearly the number of vendors with C4 parts there as there are later generations... but there are still plenty of quality cars, displays, and other events to keep you having fun for the entire weekend. As for the owners of newer generations, sure there are probably some stuck up ones. You find that everywhere in life, not just at car shows. But is that your own personal experience after going to Carlisle and talking to and hanging out with many of them, or is that a broad assumption based on a few instances? My experiences at Carlisle have been overwhelmingly positive no matter what year of Corvette the owner had. And I have been attending since 1986. And with the attitude that you are portraying in your post, certainly the C5, C6 and C7 owners just might be inclined to say that it is YOU with the poor attitude. We are all just car guys when it comes right down to it. Lighten up and enjoy the hobby.

I have a lot of experience with Corvette owners not just at Carlisle, I was in a Corvette Club and have went to many of Corvette shows and a great part of the ownership of newer Vettes are not real car guys they are people with money who don't know a spark plug from a dip stick but they can wax and shine a mean looking Corvette. It's a statist symbol for them. I have a 96 Cobra and I see a big difference in the class of people when I'm around Mustang and general muscle car people, don't get me wrong there some real car guys in the Corvette world and from what I see are mostly C4 Guys

In the years I have gone to Carlisle, I believe I have purchased one C4 item, it was a keychain with the C4 emblem on it ($9.99) ...There really isn't much there for our cars and hasn't been since I've owned my Corvette...Thank God I take lots of Corona........WW

I used to attend every year and drove from Western Michigan but never with the Vette.
I love Lititz! It is a very old town with lots of historic sites. My ex brother in law owns the large egg processing plant on the North side of town.

I have only been here a few months, but yes, Lititz is a pretty awesome town. In fact, last year it was voted "Coolest small town in America"! I am pretty fortunate to be in such a nice area.

We are driving from Southern New Jersey to Carlisle then joining the Caravan for the trip to Bowling Green all in a C4. It should be a great adventure for my wife and I.
