If you read John Pearly Huffman's resume you would see where his is coming from. He is nothing but a geek that was more interested in car magazines rather than cars. He has never really achieved much in his life and was lucky enough to have some rather good teachers on writing but not building or modifying any cars, except maybe for Brock Yates.(who by the way is suffering from Alzheimers I believe). Take Edmunds and Huffman with a grain of salt and don't loose any sleep. You just can't fix stupid!!

The Ralph Nader of automotive journalism! Like his opinion is really worth more than a pinch of Monkey Poop!

I don't know whether to laugh or swear. I grew up with all the cars that were mentioned and actually had the opportunity to drive a 53 a couple of times. I was expecting something like a brick with a loud exhaust. Suprise, suprise, suprise. That silly 6 with the power-slide was a whole lot of fun to drive. But I also liked to drive bug-eyed sprites back in the day.

Where do clowns that weren't even alive when these cars were new get the idea that they are experts? I drive my cars because I enjoy them and like Rhett Butler, Frankly Scarlet I don't give a damn about anyone else's opinion. I have owned a Corvette since Dec 1967 and never really cared if someone else like them or not.

I think they are fun to drive and my slow 88 and 91 fit my age and personality just fine.

Sounds like someone may have lacked real knowledge of the cars and decided to write for entertainment value or try anyway

I will say the L48 and L82 were horribly underpowered pigs but nothing in the 70s really had any poop to it anyway. A stripe or flare package was about as fancy as it got back then. "Special Edition!"
Anyone remember the Citation X-11? Rallye Nova? Chevette Scooter?

I had to bring this topic back up since this stupid article pops up in my google search all the f'n time.

I saw the pictures of this guy today and the fact is this author is too fat to fit properly in a C4 and they all should have been on his list.

This is further proof that any troll can get a job being a keyboard know-it-all and have literally no proof to back up anything that is said.

The wheels need to go..the rest was fine.
The only gripe I'd have with the all white 88s, is how on earth do you keep the interiors clean?

Of course now that we've seen this guys pics...I doubt he could even fit in a corvette, and if he could he might break the suspension.

I LOVE the all white interior, but it is a sunday cruiser at best.

I know this pic was posted above and Im not sure how i missed it when this thread came up.

no way he's fitting into some '88 Sport seats

Moral of the story...do act like an expert on something that you physically don't have the capability of experiencing.

I am shocked that they did not include the 1984 since everybody puts down that year model. Even Motor Trend in the latest issue say they " missed" when naming the 1984 Corvette as car of the year because of " horrid quality"

This from the car magazine that pronounced the Vega as Car of the Year.

Keep in mind that on Edmund's top ten BEST list, you will find 2 C4s. The 84 and the 90 ZR-1. The comment about the 84 was that the 84 made the Corvette relevant again. While the ZR-1 comment was about making the Corvette a supercar. That's good praise for the vehicle when the only C4s in the ten Worst are there because of hideous paint schemes (and you know they are) and the lack of durability of the Callaway (which was not a GM engineering or production effort anyway).

That guys' an old-school throwback to the pre-Jalopnik/youtube/podcart era, but at least he did point out specific C4s instead of just saying C4s are the worst.

But a lot of his stuff doesn't make sense... slam the Callaway & leave out Crossfire injected C4s?

Check the values in the new corvette magazine. Seem a bit inflated but still holding up. I was looking at a c4 but decided to keep my 91. Still enjoying it and it's paid for.

Here we go again...

And its a complete fallacy to those who actually know anything about the cars. Unless we need to start a conversation about the LT5 plenum pull club...

Big deal...He made some lame observations and spewed some opinions on one of Americas top of line sports car for what??? 6 decades?

The only car I'd consider otherwise is a properly modified viper.
