yes, i'd like to know some #s on this question!!!
today i tried to go see this '84 that had a 383 lingenfelter motor put in it that was on a close by craigslist ad, sadly the phone # was disconnected, so i couldn't see it!!!! oh well....

But, I would think there are other cars on here that are "faster" In the 1/4. (I should have said fastest car in the 1/4) Since most of us do not go out and do 254 mph on the street lol

Well the prostock C4 would likely eat the sledgehammer's lunch and steal it's trophy wife in the 1/4.

mine is the fastest to go up on blocks in the back yard to be repaired cause something broke. Bet its also the longest for sitting waiting to be fixed. (its fixed) kinda.

The venue(s) dictate how a car is to be optimized. A car that will compete seriously in "ALL" venues including the 1/4 mile, ONE mile, and the autocross/road course contests - all in a street driven package with air conditioning is one thing - but to compete with John Force's Top Fuel funny in the quarter mile is a different animal.

A lot will depend on how you classify "fastest". Around a track, down a strip, top speed, etc.
I can tell you one thing for sure though. Mine is not the fastest.
