I was wondering the other day does any one know why gm changed the mounting design three times during the c4 run? I have a early 86 so mine is the first design. I have never had any issues with it. Just has me wondering why they kept changing it.

Not sure the exact answer but like most manufacturers, probably to try and save money or make installation faster with less material, lower labor cost to build.
