Default New tires

Has anyone tried the BFGoodrich G-force sport comp-2 tires on there c4, if so how are they. I was originally going to get the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS – D3 tires but they are no longer available. I want something with a aggressive tread pattern but there is not too many options on American Brands tires, Goodyear, Michelin or bf Goodrich

Are you sure the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS – D3 are no longer available? They produce them from time to time and the stock runs out. I have F1 GS - D3 on all four corners. I bought them from tirerack.com or discounttire.com something. Look for them online on ebay. I looked for the BFGoodrich G-Force but couldn't find them.

Default BFG Tires

I have them on my 86, 245/50-16's the PO put on the car before I bought it. I've not had any problems or issues with them but then again it's a cruiser. When they wear out, if I can find the 255's then that's what will go back onto it.
If you autocross or race, don't know how they work there, but in real world town and highway use they've worked fine for me. Even done a little wet road driving on them without issues so far.

I am in the market for new tires for my 2006 Coupe. I'm currently running Nitto Invos which have been good but now I'm thinking about a different brand maybe the Continental DW or DWS. I want Michelins but there is a C7 coming into my life next year so I'm not sure about spending Michelin money. What do you think/

I have them on the front and they are real sticky......Soft......Ride well.....and are very quiet. As far as looks I'd say they are not very appealing....

I'm on my second set of Michelin's on my Denali Sierra P/U. Michelin's makes the best tires which is why they are the tires of choice for Le Mans and other endurance racing. As far as the C4 Corvette, I didn't look into Michelin's. My decision on tires for any vehicle is to try to stick as close to the OEM tires as possible. If the suspension is stock, go for the tires it was designed for. As far as the C4, that is why I chose the Goodyear F1 DS3 and this article here.

I have checked tirebarn, discount tire, Goodyear and even the Chevy dealer and they all show them as being discontinued

I see them on tirerack.com. Not sure if they are available though. Your not going to find them on the street. Seventeen inch performance tires are uncommon or small by today's standard.

After looking again...its on back order. They are not discontinued...but on limited production run. There will probably another batch made. I remember running into the same issue purchasing them before. This doesn't help you today though. In the meantime...I need to watch out for potholes.

An inexpensive option in 275/40/17 and 315/35/17 tires

Just had a set of the BFG's installed on my 85 last week, in the original 255/50-16. Limited mileage thus far, but on a couple of 20 mile runs I am more than pleased with the handling, grip and ride. The tires have the aggressive look that I wanted as well.

I bought a replacement set in the stock size for my 84 from Tire Rack about 3 weeks agao. I like them a lot better than the last set -I believe that they have a better compound?

Has anybody tried these?

I was aware of them, but I didn't realize they were available in a 315. Its nice to have another choice in that size.

Interested too... especially width comparisons. My Nitto NT05's in 275 and 315 are too narrow.

Stay Frosty!

I have firestone firehawk 500's, the seem to wear well and less costly, I don't use the car for racing, if I did I would look at some upper end performance tires.

With aftermarket A-molds I'm running Kumho Ecsta XS's. Very predictable, they set and hold with little effort in the turns.
Have an aggressive look when the hood is up, including sidewalls that protect the rim edge.
Since mileage is not my objective, they have a UTQG rating of 180 AA A to "stick and git".

Also have a set of Nitto NT-05's on the Z. Like the Kumho's I haven't found their outer edge yet.
Still trying
