Default zf6 nightmare

Just called Rockland gear today. They are the only supplier of the zf6-40 internal parts in the US. Was told zf has already discontinued some important kits for the trans such as the syncro kit. This is not good news to me. Seems like the 89-96 6 speeds are not going to be repairable in another 10 years. That's a shame, what will happen to these cars? These trannys have issues and with no part support what happens?

For the first few years of the zf6's life you couldn't get any parts, they were serviced on an exchange basis. Its a good thing they're so tough!

Default ZF parts

If push comes to shove and it comes down to having a drivable car or not, consider a Tremec or Richmond transplant. Maybe even a T56.
Just some thoughts.

I have a new and unused ZF6 sitting in my garage. I bought it when I had my '95 coupe just in case I needed one. Fortunately, I didn't need it. It does have the Hurst shifter installed.

If you're interested, let me know.

Steven
