Default WARNING: Exotic Muscle

I bought a set of trailing arm brackets on Exotic Muscle's E-Bay store. In the auction they used a picture of what appeared to be a direct copy of the DRM bracket. It clearly showed the 2 locator plates welded to the bracket and only 2 sets of holes.

What I got was a set of stock brackets that had an additional pair of holes drilled in them, but the holes don't even match each other side to side. They weren't cleaned up well before painting either, and the paint was even still smelly and a little tacky when I got them.

I've opened a case with E-bay for a refund, but I wanted to fore-warn the forum about their business practices.

Here is the link to the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Corvette-Rear-Modified-trailing-arm-brackets-for-84-96-/231164426193?nma=true&si=XWDwzJQ7y0BLy1mrAs%252FlndHRKPY%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I'll see if I can post a picture of the brackets they sent shortly.

I thought this was about some hardcore C4 car show photos.

Here is an exotic C4

I was considering buying coil over shocks from them and other parts for the suspension. I'm going to call them or stop by and talk to them. I live 15 min away.

Ok, I do have to give them credit for taking care of it:

"Hi Mark, Sorry for your bad experience with us. You are correct we still have up an old pic of the brackets. We will get that updated. We can no longer get the DRM brackets. I will get with our fabricator to see about the hole alignment issue. I was on vacation and my new guy slapped some paint on them. We typically bead blast and powder coat them before we send out. Sorry again. We will refund your money once we receive them. Hope you will give us another chance. Kind Regards, Merle Exotic Muscle 480-967-4223"

If you are thinking about installing coilovers in your C4, give Van Steel a call. I have their coilover set in my 96, and it just a thrill to drive.

DRM still makes their brackets...they just do them in limited runs when they have enough pre-orders to do a manufacturing run.

Call Randy @DRM...

I looked up the Van Steel website and saw that the kit to install all 4 coilovers costs $2,300. Exotic Muscle has coilovers with Bilstein shocks for $1,200. This doesn't include any mounts. Van Steel sells four mounts for the rear coilovers. With the kit or individually. I think buying the mounts makes more sense than fabrication. Any feed back on this modification would be appreciated !

Those are the Double adjustable coilover shocks. The Single adjustable coilover shocks are $1742 for the set of four.

The Vansteel Coilovers are excellent quality and the Only coilovers I'd install on my Vette!...

I want to caution creating a thread like this bashing a corvette business.

The owner (i believe his name is merle) is a c4 (zr1?) enthusiast.

even if one of his product lines is not the best(since drm doesnt make the product anymore), he might still have other stuff that is.

He will probably see this thread and hopefully reply.

I've bought stuff from Merle at EM over the years and he's a stand up guy.
However, same thing goes for Randy at DRM!

I just bought my coil overs from Merl at EM and had no issues. He answered my many questions and gave me a great product.

Good experience with Merle too. The fact the man apologized and made it right shows he is a stand up guy. I could see biotchin if he did not rectify the problem after it was brought to his attention.

I'm interested in the coilover modification for a few reasons:
1. Lower my car 2"
2. Better handling and no I don't race it. But I do on occasion drive through canyons and take the turns hard.
3. Remove the two leaf springs.

We are 4(ish) weeks away from having them back in stock. We have been getting calls about them again. Which is a good sign to get some more built

Fact: they haven't bought anything from us in 7-8 or more years. But borrowed some of our product pictures

Randy
