I don't know if I would put a "good" used part on my car that just about the same age as my car if I had a choice. Especially if it could fail at the worst possible moment.

I replaced a wheel bearing last weekend and noticed that the spring was cracked or splitting. I then noticed it setting a little lower in the rear. I haven't actually measured it, but that could be the cause, I guess. Thanks for the input.

It's been my experience that if a used spring isn't splintered, it's likely as good as new. If it is splintering, it's done. Or soon will be. Amazing how a tiny delamination can compromise the function.

Depending on your suspension, your rear spring is likely an NYR (base) or an NYU (heavy duty.) I think I've got both in a batch of springs which were left over from Tommy Morrison's C4 testing and racing projects. These are in excellent condition. Here's a close-up of the code on an NYU. I can send you more pix if you're interested. Asking $150 plus s/h apiece.
