C5 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
Guess I could say my 94 ZR-1 was my 60th birthday present, though a few months late.

61 feels like 16!
I got my 22,000 mile 1979 'little red Corvette' a week after my friend's memorial service. He had fought a short but tough battle with cancer.
At the service they read a message from him: "Fellas if there is something you want to do, do it NOW, because tomorrow never comes!"
I took that to heart and started looking for the Vette I had always wanted, but never even looked for. I checked out 5 different C3s till I found this one 70 miles away on Craigslist!
Within 5 minutes of seeing it in person, I knew it was the cherry that I would find eventually, but it only took a week!
Every time I drive it I feel like I am 16 instead of 61!

I'd like to thank all of you for your participation in this thread! We all know how hard it is to keep these old C4's running in top shape. When they are not quite right,we enjoy the challenge of getting them back to their neck snapping best. These cars are very important in the Corvette line, and Im honored to share the forum with you guys,no matter what your age is.

Tahlee,
I really like the looks of your stripes. I have an 88 Convert. in white and want to do the same type of stripes in a charcoal or light grey. Congrats on your ride, I think it looks great!!

63 and enjoying my 92. I was always a GTO guy... but then I heard there was a law said when you get over 60 you must have a Vette... I don't wanna break the law ( retired Police Officer) so here's "Rosie"

Melting Slicks
Got mine at the ripe old age of 45 on 7-19-09..almost five years ago. Sure wish I'd gotten it a LOT sooner but I plan on always having a corvette and enjoying them until the Good Lord says otherwise

Charles and other guys,
I feel honored to be in this group. I am 67 and just got my first Vette. 88 Convertible. I always wanted one when I was a kid. But the early 1960's was a different era and money was hard to come by. Then raising kids and family came along. I don't know much about them but am trying to learn and I will. My kids now tell me "it's about time Dad that you enjoy things-go for it!" And I agree-now's the time for us "old farts" to enjoy our youthful minds.

At age 77 I am apparently the "oldest" guy here!!! I bought my triple black 2002 Corvette convertible in October 2012. Here in the Buffalo NY area we do not get the longest driving season but I love to put the top down and cruise. Since it is a C5 getting in and out is not too bad and the ride is solid and comfortable. The best part is that this is not just an average 2002. Power was increased considerably with a FAST intake manifold, cold air intake, valves and camshaft,Borla exhaust etc.
I bow down to you with grace and honor. May your years be many and keep your foot on the throttle.

Just an old man
It was on my bucket list simply to drive one before I hit 40...... then before 50..... and then it was 60. Maybe some day. I went to a car show last night and talked to a guy with a 58 and his wife with a 66. Owning one? I'd love to, but..... So for now I keep checking the papers and dreaming that it could happen.
