Default All Original '84 add performance?

About to rebuild the engine and tranny (lost 1st and 2nd gears) It has the 4+3 and crossfire injection I want to keep it as original looking as I can but add performance. I plan on headers and a high performance street cam but would like suggestions on pistons rods valves ignition and the like to get a few more horses out of it. I can do the cylinder boring and valve job in my garage but have only done Harley s never a V8 so any help there would be appreciated also.

restored , built and owned so many off and on road cars for 40 years now .... however , never owned a corvette I am in love again ... where have you been all my life ...

I simply Hot cammed it to run crisp and healthy
I must tell you that the Lunati Cam company put a ton of time giving me advise
the "Lunati " guys were great to work with

the Cam was a special grind ..
they developed the perfect cam for us cross-fired dude's

I was keen on getting the hottest cam that would allow this C4 to be driven daily and than go out the Thursday night and run 1/8th or 1/4 mile runs ... they all talk Smack until I surprise the livin crap out of them ... I love this sleeper car

cam pumps tons of power in the low to Mid ranges .. the perfect street set up for us daily drivers .. me happy

of course i searched and found a very cheap set of fresh and complete " 882 " steely heads off of Craigs list

Added a very used full length set of full length hooker headers ... super cool .... oh yeah the sound is delicious

Which lunati cam did you install? Was it low to mid range or for top end since you ported the intake?
