Default Mo's Electric Corvette Gets an New Powerplant

Hi folks,
My other post was getting very long so I thought I would share what I have been up to lately.

I initially had a single 11 inch motor and a ZF6 transmission that I have been driving with for about 2 years.

Back in March I smoked the 11" motor while doing some 0-60 passes trying to get below 6 seconds.

SO, I being a logical Frog decided if one breaks then double it!

I purchased two 9" motors that I have Siamese together and added a Powerglide on the tail end.

Siamese 9" motors linked together waiting for the transmission to arrive.

The complete power train!

Powerglide rated for 1000HP /1000 Ft/Lbs or torque. Manual Shift 1.73 first gear.

Ready to drop into the car. I used a cherry picker to pull the front up over the sub frame.

Motors mounted into the car.

Finished interior with B&M Bandit Shifter

The performance on paper should be about a 5 second 0-60, fully amps capable of 625 ft/lbs of torque and 400 HP.

I will keep you posted.

Youre outta control, Mo

Something about seeing a Vette leave a light quick without a sound, kinda eerie. Bet it raises some eyebrows

Hey Lloyd, no I have a 40Kw battery pack, my range with the single 11" was over 100 miles. I drove it 108 miles straight with a few amp hours left over.

I expect the same if not perhaps a little better performance since there is now so much more torque I'm only drawing about 250 amps or less cruising at 65 mph.

Thanks Cuisinart...

Yes the best description thus far is it seems like a theme park ride,, silent and pulls you back into the seat.
I was at a car show in Rialto Saturday, the police were eyeing it, and were actually blown away, I was cruising and of course it is dead silent.

Thanks everyone for your compliments.

I have been extremely busy with work, but do plan to do a walk around and a couple drive by videos.

I also have 2 800 CFM fans to force air into the motors so I can push the motors a little harder longer

When the car is stopped I have a MSD window switch that switches on a pump to the transmission to keep the pressure up since of course the motors do not idle. It kicks off once the motors are at about 300 rpm.

My redline is at about 6000 rpm, I'm at about 400 hp from 3000-5000 RPM. Tthe torque is about 625 ft/lbs from 0- 3250 rpms and drops to about 400ft/lbs at 5000 rpms.

I will keep updating the posts.

Thanks!

Always like reading your threads.

You may need a solid axle if you keep adding more torque LOL

Steve
