My Tire Table
The takeoffs from my vette were so big and neat looking I hated to just toss 'em. So I made this table/chair thingie for ruminating about how that bolt/nut/washer/wrench/small animal could be lost in the engine compartment. Perfect for deciding what to mod next or wondering how I got myself into this mess.

They were a mixed set, problem is that the newest two tires were still 8 years old. The cheapskate in kept saying "look at all the tread left..........". Much like my new brake pads, the difference is astounding. Burnouts were smokeless tire skipping/hopping affairs, now they are shrieking smoking rounds of awesomeness.

That's awesome, how did you build them?
Makes me wish I had saved the big 325s from my GS.

But then I found the bottom was too floppy, the tires wanted to roll when you sat on them. So I stopped by my local motorcycle shop and asked for a used small tire. They pointed out back to a big ol' pile of used tires and told me to have at it. I picked out a sportbike front tire. Stuck it in between everything on the ground, drilled holes through and bolted it up. Like so:
I cut a piece of junk plywood I had laying around into a circle, and keeping with the car/tire theme sprayed it with rubberized undercoating.
I weigh about 235 and I bend the tire a little when I sit on mine. Tire still takes my full weight without any problems though, just a divot on the top. My wife and kids can sit on their tires without them bending at all. It's a neat addition and generated a lot of conversation at our party. It was supposed to be for my garage but it ended up in the back yard by the chiminea and the hammock.
