Default 1995 LT1 Corvette

Hey guys first posting, but i have had my Volvo S60 for a little while and i am looking at getting this C4, i would be doing a straight trade. I just wanna know anything i should be on the look out for when looking. Thank you. The Corvette has a few minor issues, but the only thing major is that it needs the ignition switch fixed. It has 190k miles

Be on the lookout for a high mileage vette where the car does not have a significant amount of documentation as to the all of the maintenance that has been performed on the car for the past 150K.

Be on the lookout for a high mileage vette where you do not know the previous owner.

If you are serious about buying this car ask the owner to come along with you while you drive it for an hour. After the drive test every single switch in the car and make a list of the things that do not function.

If you have never driven a C4 ........... do NOT buy this car until you have driven a half dozen others to see what they feel like. A well maintained C4 will feel a lot different than one that is not.

If the engine is original and not rebuilt. You could be looking at rebuilding the engine about the 230,000 + mark. Automatic or manual. Auto's last about 120,000 or so before having to be rebuilt.

Replacing the ignition switch is no small job since you have to pull the steering wheel to get to it.

Can't tell for sure, but the weatherstripping on the top appears to be in bad shape. New weatherstripping can run you a few bucks.

If I were you, I'd take the car to someone who knows Vettes and have them tally up the cost to get the car in good running condition. Then, you can better decide if trading straight up for your Volvo is worth it.
