Sounds like the vacuum source for the HVAC system.
Depending on whether you have the C60 manual system or the C68 digital system it either goes to the HVAC control head (C60) or the HVAC programmer (C68).

Thanks Clif, I have the C68 system Digital. Could this make the AC switch to the dash defrost vent automatically in me not have any control over it from the AC control unit?

Vacuum tubing is very small maybe 1/8 - 3/16

Post a snapshot of the part. I'd doubt it part of the vacuum connections and more than likely a portion of the air distribution system but certainly could be most anything. If it's a molded plastic part and part of the distribution system it could likely have a part number molded into it. Post that also if there is one. Dimensions might help if you've problems posting a snapshot.

Yours won't look like this because mine has a heater water control valve (the white tube), but the black tube is the supply for the system. It comes from the vacuum check valve mounted on the engine. There should be something vaguely similar to this that joins the vacuum supply line to the line that goes to the HVAC programmer. All of the HVAC programmer control lines are color coded. The black line is the supply.

Yes. The HVAC programmer above your right foot controls all the doors in the HVAC duct work with vacuum. If you have no vacuum you have no control.

Check out this thread I posted 12 years ago....
OP - It should have a part number on it so that it can be determined which location etc. I asked for that information earlier if there was one and I doubted that it was a vacuum line.
