Default 1984 Corvette Emergancy Brakes stuck

So Today I moved my corvette out of where I had it parked and when I went to park it at another part of my home I used the hand brake to park it and now the emergency brakes wont release. The handle moves up and down but the emergency brakes wont release. What could be the issue?

I tried that and nothing happens. It feels like the hand brake and button aren't connected to anything.

you have to pull up hard (with button depressed) enough to release it.
Have you ever used before?

I did pull pull hard with the button depressed.
Actually no, I haven't had the car that long and this is the first time I used the hand brake.

Another new corvette owner here..

To release - I push the button and pull up until I feel pressure, pull just a little further.
Holding the button as I lower the lever.

I do it with the ignition on so that I can verify the brake light on the dash goes out...

This e brake setup makes for a good anti theft device which works for non Vette owner thieves.
