C7's rear, had enough time.
Ok was holding off judgement till I got used to them. Have seen them at shows next to other gens and have made my mind up. The C7's rear end is ugly, not just the lights but the whole design. Anyway that's my opinion.

yep...I agree with the..."Give it a few years, to grow on you"...way of thinking. I still think the rear fascia, with it's dark cladding, looks unfinished, and for lack of a better word, cheap. but I will take one !! please !!

An old timer made an interesting point about the "retro" looking cars: "I'm tired of all of these retro cars! I've seen them already! I want to see something new, something different - that's innovation!"
I think the rear is awesome. I don't like the non Z06 nose/bumper, looks too much like a C6!

I bet many people said the same negative things about every Generation Corvette that was introduced...But, in the end...All were Loved!...
C1 design - "Who would build a car out of Fiberglass?!"...
C2 design - "Those Side Pipes are too loud and I hate those weird Flip up Headlights?"...
C3 design - "What a Rattle Trap and what's with the plastic nose and bumpers?!"...
C4 design - "That looks just like a Trans Am!"... "You sit Below the frame rails?!"...
C5 design - "What a Big Fat Butt!"...
C6 design - "That rear end is too short and looks cut off!"..."Why did they remove the Flip up Headlights?"...
.

The main reason I think the c7 will grow on me over time is if you didn't tell me it was a Corvette, I would have said "cool sports car." But I expect 4 rounded tail lights and smoother lines on a Corvette. And dammit, I still miss the pop up headlights, aerodynamics and moving parts be damned! (With that said, I still love the C6). But this is all out of nostalgia and tradition. You can't expect the same car every gen, and sometimes you have to step on a lot of people's toes to progress the brand.
I don't think the C7 is ugly, I just don't think it looks like a Corvette (how many times has that been said about a new Corvette?). The C7 is much more harsh in design than every previous Corvette. But hey, most new gens get people bitching about the design. And if time passes and it still isn't your favorite gen... drive a different gen.

During my last cross-country trip I exchanged words with a Non-Corvette owner about the C7's rear. I told the guy not to worry about it because he was not a Vette owner, and never going to own one. He got very angry at me, so angry that he turned red, remained quiet, and I smiled as I walked away.
In 1983 that great majority of Corvette owners thought the C4 was lame.
There you have it gentlemen, I bet your wife, and kids are beautiful to you, and to you alone.
