Default Air Inbox Modification

Hi, I have a 94 LT1 and I am replacing the air filter with a K&N filter. I have also seen numerous web sites where they mention doing the air box mod but really no pictures or video..Does anyone have any information on this and is this something easily that can be done, I know they sell a new air-box lid for 39.99 but it appears we can use the original lid and cut it ourselves. Any info is appreciated..Thanks!!Bob

i did mine. Just drill out the rivets on the top baffle and remove it and then cut the box open with a die grinder and cut off wheel.

Thanks Lloyd do you have any pictures of the final outcome..and dumb question but some sites mention cutting the bottom side and some mention cutting the top side..I would assume cutting the top side so the filter is wide open facing the hood when it is closed..Is that assumption correct? Thanks..
