Ok who else uses their front tires for holding tools? And seats to take a break? Yes I need to clean my garage.

I do that all the time. The problem is when you get over 5 or so tools on one tire they tend to fall off.

I also put tools on the plenum. The grooves keep them from rolling off.

The area in front of the wipers is another good place for tools.

I put nuts and bolts on the windshield above the windshield wipers.

Is there any other use of tires haha. I used them as seat while working on my engine and the airbox is a tool holder.

I remember years ago, some of the catalog companies sold a plastic tray that fit the front wheel opening, and mated up with the weather stripping. kind of made a tool shelf when working on the car. I tried to google some images, with no luck.

Dt86 - what kind of tires are you running on the corvette?

That tool tray sounds neat. The tires are BF Goodrich G-force sport comp 2's.

They can be filled with pot when crossing the border.

I always do, then tell myself I never will do that again after retrieving a socket or something that rolled under the car.....then I do it again....

Oh yeah, been there and do that still! Use the area where the wipers are too for temporary tool storage LOL! I have a small tray that I normally keep my immediate tools I am using though.

Later,

Lee

I do this, too. The tray seems like a neat idea -- especially one that would fit over the tire to hold tools but not easily let them roll off or even one to fit on the plenum so I can keep my seat.

you gotta be careful about putting cold beer on a hot plenum..for you know it, dang thing gotten pizz warm. Actualy I like using magnetic bowls to hold small tools and nut/bolts and stuff.

A stool. You can stand on then to get stuff off the top shelves, change ceiling light bulbs, or if you have outlets in the ceiling put a plug in the socket.

Yes yes yes me too.! Just had a brilliant idea for all of us wanna vette technicians, I'm inventing...well, have just invented, a tool or whatever tray with a rubber coated concaved bottom that fits perfectly on the front tire! With a 1" lip edge around it, made with your choice of corvette emblem on the tray.... for $19.99 ! But wait...there's more! If you call NOW, we'll throw in a second tray for the other side .......yes.....you guessed it. ....FREE ! Just pay separate shipping and handling (of course).
Let this post stand as my poor man's patent. Should anyone attempt to steal my idea, royalties will be payed! Life

Now if anyone knows how to contract manufacture, (NOT in China) please feel free to partner up with me here.. 50 50 split of all the profits! Who hoooooo. Like Chappell said "im rich biiaaatch!
