How can you permanently disable the PKE?
Is there a way to permenantly disable the PKE? I know how to shut it off with the remote, but if you disconnect the battery and hook it back up then the PKE enables itself. Those that have installed aftermarket alarms might know? If I install an aftermarket alarm I'd like to not have to mess with the PKE anymore! :nonod:

I have no idea, but my '93, whoever owned it before me has disabled it. I never tried to see if I could program one yet.

The PKE has a 5 amp fuse on the pass/side panel. I think its no. 26? Try pulling that.
Is that all the fuse is connected to though? Don't want to be knocking anything else out.
Will it set a code?

It's a pain when the car keeps locking itself and unlocking itself, and I don't trust the "rock" method in case I leave the keys in teh car when I'm racing or washing the car.

It seems to be fused alone. It could set a code?

Re: How can you permanently disable the PKE? (lou sylvestri)
The only thing I hate about my Corvette is that damn PKE.
I pulled the fuse out of mine about a year ago. I believe that fuse is used only for the PKE, it does not set a code or atleast has not on my 94.
I forget what fuse # it is, if you have a Helms shop manual look in there or it may be in your owners manual as well. Drop me an email if you can't find it.
Do yourself a favor and pull it.-lol
