Climbing in and out of a C4

Climbing in and out of a C4
Some people bitch about getting in and out of a C4. But I think it builds the anticipation of going for a ride. I like the race car feel of the seating position and peeking over the long hood. A buddy of mine says it feels like his a$$ is dragging on the ground. What does he know he drives a mustang. I personally like the climb in.

New to the C4 family in January, I'm still developing my technique. Getting in isn't too big a deal, but getting out gracefully is still a challenge. Wonder if it's the fact that I'm missing the cartilage on one quadrant of my left knee - naw, that couldn't be it...

I smile and agree with the posts above. It is a real PITA getting in, even more difficult egressing this beast but once I'm in, it becomes a lot more comfortable for sure. Driving while dragging my rear end on the ground is ok by me. However, the seat bottom cushion is either too narrow or my fanny is too wide because until I squirm around and get settled, it seems the side bolsters like to open up my butt crack a little - LOL!!
Personally, I'd like the thing to be an inch or so more off the pavement and would appreciate a somewhat less harsh ride. Geeze, WTH, listen to me complain will ya??!! LOL!
But tell you what, it is a Covette and that's the way they are. Anyway, I really do love this car. Liked my 1966 Roadster even more so during my youth but this 86 convert is more than just, "ok".

I love it and wouldn't have it any other way. A true sports car makes you suffer in some way, IMO. People these days like going fast in comfort (or the idea that they can go fast). Too bad because there's precious true sports cars being sold these days at an affordable price.
BTW, to get in I open the door and with both feet on the ground I rest my butt on the seat, then rotate in the right leg and then lift the left over the sill. To get out, I get the left leg out and then lift myself by putting one arm over the windshield (I have a vert) and the other on the molding lust behind the driver's door.

You guys have got to be kidding right . Pulling my leg
You should try my company vehicle a 4x4 which i almost need a ladder to climb into, to get out you just fall out.
I have no issues getting in and out of my corvette, all it takes is practice. I tend to get in with one leg and *** first and then bring the other leg in, to get out pulll your legs out over sill and on the ground then lean forward and stand up. Hey even the little woman in my life can get in and out of my corvette better than my 4x4 company vehicle.
Once in a corvette its one of the most comfortable rides, like being hugged by a bear.

Sometimes to get out of my 84 I slide around get both feet out on the ground and slide out a little to get myself sitting on the edge or sill or whatever you call it. Its just a little easier to get up from there but it makes a big difference to me.

with all the above. I think it's the best driving position of any generation Corvette (but I haven't driven a C7 yet).

That's the way I get in and I get out the same way just in reverse. Considering I have 2 rods and 6 screws in my back that's the best I can do. Once I get in the profile of the seat actually feels pretty good to my back. My wife said I get in and out like a girl.

The only car I have had a hard time getting in and out of was a 1973 914 and that was year ago....Talk about your butt draggin the ground.
I have two lowering kits for the C4's....Can't wait to see how those work out.
Be like looking at the center cap on semi wheels as you go by.

I love my C4 (1992), but I'm a big guy who is also 62 years old so getting in and out isn't particularly easy. To get in, I turn sideways, lower my *** onto the seat then maneuver my legs into the cockpit. Getting out is more-or-less the reverse process, but I drape my right arm over the door to help pull myself up and out. And yes, don't ask, my wife definitely gets a kick out of watching me pull this off ...
