Watching the NCM Skydome cameras
It's about 2:30 local time and it looks like things are beginning to happen. They repositioned the lifting crane and brought in some kind of work platform.
Wendell Strode posted on his Facebook page that they are going to send a guy down into the pit by the end of the weekend in order to start lifting the first 3 cars out. Looks like they plan to pull out the blue C6 ZR1 sometime Monday.
I love being retired with plenty of time here in the frozen tundra of Michigan!

Right now they have a few ropes dangling into the pit from a Skylift platform. I don't understand what they are doing though as I would think that thick straps would work better.
Maybe this is what they will use to lower one of the guys into the pit?

I was on the NCM Facebook page and I don't remember whether it was there or on a link from there, but the plan is to remove the ZR1's wheels and put some kind of adapter in their place and lift it out using the adapters. They said that should happen Monday.

I watched "skydome 2" for about 15 minites , the 3 guys that were there were sitting down and never moved the whole time..I can only hope they were on their lunch break or the Corvette Museum is getting screwed.... And let's not hear any jokes about them being "Union employees"..

Based on what I've observed so far, these are expert ex-govt workers.
There must be a dozen guys there right now and only three seem to be engaged in work.
The rest must be union observers, making time and a half on Saturday.

They are screwing around down in the hole with the lines that were dropped in there yesterday.
I think a couple of firefighters with a ladder might have gotten down there and secured the car long before now.

Here she is - looks like they are calling it a day. Probably will pull her out when they return. Monday?
