replacement speaker size confusion
I am having a new radio installed in my 92 here soon and having new speaker wire ran BC of the Bose gold stuff. I will be putting in the new speakers myself.
Here is my confusion, I have read many different things about size. I am planning on using the original brackets so what size speakers can I use front and rear.
4" and 1.5" tweeter up front factory but have read a 5.25" will fit no problems. Is this true? Can I use all the factory mounts and enclosures with a 5.25"??
6" round in the rear factory but again read that a 6.5" OR 6"x9" both work just fine. True or false? Can I use any of these sizes and not need any additional hardware, brackets, ext??
Thank you for your time

I did my 1992 not too long ago. 6 1/2 speakers just popped in perfectly in the rear. In the front I used 5 1/4 round speakers. I did need to remove a bit of the original speaker enclosure, which is plastic, to install the larger 5 1/4 speakers but it was no problem.

Well like I said the 6-3/4 kickers fit great and sound good. For the front I just went with 4" speakers but you can hardly hear them. Good luck ucfsaxman!
